TripIt: Travel Planner App Reviews

What an app!

Ive reached the point where I never travel without it. Everything is monitored. Data inputs by just forwarding the confirmation email to Tripit. It couldnt be easier to use, and couldnt be more useful. I really like the latest update. Everything appears even more organized.

Most used travel app on my phone

Ive been using TripIt for over 7 years, traveling 180 days a year. Its a super app that keeps getting better. Ive tried competitors, it has no peers. This latest version is cleaner, beautifully laid out. I like the buttons on the bottom. Only problem is when deleting an unfiled item it endlessly spools in the delete process and I have to restart the app.

Ruined the app!

Dont update! New version is slow and buggy. Stay with the old "unsupported version" (at least it will work!)

Very buggy!

After falling to succeed in correcting wrong return date info for my next flight, I tried to delete the trip and start over. The app is now stuck in a "deleting" mode and is totally unresponsive to any other command. When I tried to post a review of this problem, it told me that my review nickname was already taken, and proceeded to drop/delete everything I had written. Hence the double frustration.

Makes Itinerary Building Easy

Great app, just forward all confirmations to tripit and the app builds out your itinerary for you, plus it keeps a trip history so you know all the places youve stayed, etc. If youre a traveler get this app.

Slow, buggy and unusable

This app is a complete disappointment. Every time you try to edit something, it grinds to a halt. When it puts a hotel on your timeline, it creates a second map-only entry of the same location, despite the fact that there is already a map attached to the hotel entry. You have to go through and delete the duplicates--which takes forever. Then the deleted maps randomly reappear in the timeline, so you need to start the deleting process all over again. The automatic entry via forwarded email is a great idea and works, but the app overall is so slow and frustrating that its unusable.

Good app, but need some development to be 5stars

Please add "Add plan button" on each day row. So when user add the new activity, the date should show automatically. I have very long trip and it very tried that i need to select date every time i add a new plan.

Copy/paste broken

Great app QA. The number one reason I use this is to keep travel records in one place. This version doesnt allow you to "copy" details (confirmation number) to use elsewhere. WTSF?!

Lacking functionality development

Dear developer: good idea, poor execution and customer support comes with an attitude. Ideas....1. Try adding a feature to better allow export to Outlook (currently, export only creates a separate calendar, but should allow for import by Outlook into the main calendar and also allow event-by-event import). 2. There should be a better way to store travel insurance purchases. If travel insurance is purchased, there is no way to intelligently record this in Tripit. 3. It is cumbersome to break trips into segments when, particularly when there is a multi-destination trip. 4. Allow the user to have alias emails (so we can send invoices from personal and work accounts). 5. Finally, many international travel provider confirmations are not supported and details are often not recorded from forwarded confirmations. Despite emailing customer support with recommendations, I only see cosmetic improvements, but no real increases in functionality.

Latest Version is Buggy

In light of the fact that Im paying $45 a year for the Pro version of this app, it would be nice if I could add another traveler without the app crashing! Cmon people, update the app and fix these pesky bugs. Until then the best I can give you is 3 stars.

Sync Broken to iPhone Calendar

New version of TripIt will no longer sync to iPhone. IPad yes, iPhone no. Why buy TripIt if it cannot add trips to the Calendar? You should fire the genius who deleted the Settings option to "Add TripIt to My Calendar" with the latest update, with the HELP feature that directs users to select that option.

BEST EVER

I love this app! I have been using it for several years. I have changed my devices from IOS to Droid and back again. It has retained all of my information. It is so helpful as it pulls itinerarys out of my lost emails, keeps my confirmation numbers handy and notifies me of flight delays and even reminds me to check in for my flights!

Needs support for cruises

Great app for Air Travel. Epic Fail, when trying to setup a cruise. Type in the address of the port and the pin stays at the city center, type in the latitude and longitude and the pin stays at the city center. Epic Fail!

Cant edit trip.

Cant add activities Cant add fellow travelers Too many cants and not enough cans.

Crash

The app crashes when you enter the email address of the person you want to share your trip plan with...

Pretty Helpful

Historically I create a spreadsheet with travel details for each trip. If this would show the costs (of each item & total) I would probably use it exclusively, but it doesnt so I tend to continue using my spreadsheet instead.

Missing calendar sync

Seriously guys..... you have included iMessage functionality, but still havent fixed calendar sync on iPad??? Lets get real about what is really important to the customer base who are PRO paying customers. I love TripIt and will revise this review when you FIX the calendar bug.

Unable to email to share itinerary

What happened?!!! Now Im unable to share & email my itinerary!!! An error message keeps appearing stating there is no internet connection. Please fix ASAP!!! Thanks.

Not working

Worked well in the beginning but I send itineraries and dont receive anything back.

Solid app

Great app. Only wish is that they would drop the price on the pro version. Too expensive.
